The "Bottom Drive CFA" represents a revolutionary torque system applied to the drill rigs for the execution of continuous flight augers. This system has originated a varied line of models.
In this system, the drilling tool (auger) crosses the rotary head and takes part in the torque transmission mechanism, allowing the rotary head to be placed at the drill mast base, which provides innumerous advantages if compared to the traditional system.
The system consists in the opening of notches aligned along the full length of the drilling auger, which will fit the keyways connected to the rotary head. The rotary head rotation, and consequently, the auger rotation, executes the drilling process.
CZM’s exclusive “Bottom Drive CFA” system is internationally patented and worldwide recognized for its high performance, especially to continuous flight auger applications.
Advantages of the "Bottom Drive CFA" System
Significant improvement in stability, which provides increased safety to the drill rig operation, an essential point for the tranquility of workers and contractors;
Excellent drilling depth x equipment weight ratio, due to its improved positioning of the center of gravity, which enables better transport availability and lower costs;
Pull-down is centralized to the drilling auger, with better penetration in very hard soils. When the pull-down device (winch) is present in a conventional system, it tends to buckle the auger;
Highly effective drilling torques, due to the robust drilling head;
Better application of the drill rig power, due to a reduced length of the hydraulic hoses that feed the drilling head, which results in lower hydraulic pressure loss;
Lighter drilling masts, once they are designed only for the buckling process, and without mast torsion;
Hydraulic extraction of the auger extension by the hydraulic pull-up cylinder, which is an operation performed in conjunction with the winch.
